Priced on actively monitored permits.

The only limit that governs a plan is how many permits you are actively watching. Archiving one keeps every change already recorded and frees the slot immediately.

What the monitoring cadence actually means

A plan’s cadence is a ceiling, not a promise. PermitChime checks a permit at whichever is slower: the cadence your plan allows, or the rate at which that authority publishes. Several supported sources publish once a day, and polling a once-a-day dataset every hour would put load on a government server for no additional signal — and would let the interface imply a freshness the data does not have.

Checked a few times a day (about every 6 hours), and never more often than the source publishes.
Solo
Checked about every 2 hours, and never more often than the source publishes.
Team
Checked about every hour, and never more often than the source publishes.
Agency
Checked about every hour, and never more often than the source publishes.

Every jurisdiction’s real publishing cadence is listed on the coverage page, and on every permit inside the product.

Questions

Billing and limits.

What counts as an actively monitored permit?

A permit with monitoring switched on. Archived permits and permits with monitoring off do not count, and neither does a one-off lookup in the public permit checker.

What happens if I go over my limit?

You are asked to upgrade or to archive something. Nothing is deleted and no history is lost.

What happens to my permits if I downgrade?

Monitoring is switched off on the most recently added permits until you are inside the new limit. Every permit and every change PermitChime has already recorded stays exactly where it is, and you choose which ones to re-enable.

Is there an annual plan or a discount?

Not today. The prices on this page are the prices, billed monthly through Stripe, and this page is generated from the same configuration the billing system uses.

Do you charge per seat?

No. Each plan includes a fixed number of seats — 10 on Team, 50 on Agency — and the price does not change with how many of them you use.

Can I try it without paying?

Yes. The Free plan monitors 3 permits with no card, and the public permit checker works without an account at all. Solo is $49 a month when you outgrow it.
